Purpose, Vision, and Focus

NorthWord Church

Worship with us:  Sundays,10:00 a.m. Lewis-Palmer HS, Monument, CO

“Out of the north comes golden splendor;
Around God is awesome majesty.” – Job 37:22

Our Purpose:  To reflect Christ to the world. (Ephesians 3:8-11)

Our Vision:  To know and love the Lord Jesus, transformed by His power  (1 John 4:19)

Our Focus:

Jesus First.
 We want people to see the Lord – lifted up, honored, and cherished. We speak of His Grace, both locally and globally, allowing Him to display His character in us with humility, contentment and hope. (Romans 15:13, Phil 1:20, Col 1:15-18, 4:2-6, 1 Thess 1:8-10, 1 Pet 3:15-16)
Biblical Living.
The Bible is God’s very words. It is the primary tool that His Spirit uses to grow followers of Christ. We preach and teach God’s Word expositionally. We study it, and discuss it to deeply understand and pursue God. His mysteries, purposes, and principles give us true direction and fulfillment for life. (Psalm 19:7-11, John 17:17-21, 1 Cor 4:1, 2 Tim 3:16-17, 1 Pet 2:1-2, 2 Pet 1:20-21)
Pray Now.
Reliance on God is fundamental. To know His heart and seek His will, we must listen carefully—at all times. (Acts 6:4, Eph. 6:18-20, Col. 4:2, 1 Thess. 5:17)
Transforming Hearts.
 A renovation of heart is expected of genuine believers. Christ “in us” motivates our actions, attitudes, and words to honor Him and impact those around us. Our desire is to have Him live in and through us. (John 14:15, Phil. 1:6, Col. 1:27, Titus 3:4-6)
Giving Ourselves.
Transformation flourishes in community. We are committed to reflecting God’s honor by fostering and protecting an environment of biblical compassion, mercy, and hospitality, sharing our spiritual gifts and abilities, and offering our lives, time, and possessions to Him as acts of true worship. (John 13:34-35, Romans 12:1-21, Eph 4:25-32, 1 Pet. 4:8-11)
